Round Bathroom Mirrors
Round mirrors soften the hard geometry of a bathroom. Tiles, vanity edges, shower screens, towel rails, it's all straight lines and right angles. Drop a circle mirror above the basin and the whole room stops feeling so boxy. They're also forgiving when the vanity ends up slightly off-centre under a window or beside a wall, because there's no rectangle drawing your eye to the misalignment. Whether you're after a simple round wall mirror or a statement circular mirror, matching size and frame to your vanity is what makes the room work.
Our round mirror range runs from small 500mm circular mirrors for powder rooms up to 900mm-plus large round mirror statement pieces for wide vanities and feature walls. Frames come in matte black, brushed brass and gold, plus frameless polished-edge options if you'd rather the tiling lead. LED and backlit versions sit in the range too, for bathrooms where the overhead light throws shadows across your face at the basin.
What size round mirror for your vanity
The rule most designers work to for any round vanity mirror: mirror diameter around 60 to 75% of your vanity width. A 900mm single vanity sits well under a 600 to 700mm round mirror. A 1200mm vanity takes 750 to 900mm comfortably. Go smaller and it looks lost. Go bigger and it starts crowding the tapware and wall lights.
For a double vanity you've got two options. One large round mirror centred between the basins (usually 800 to 900mm) reads calm and architectural. Two matching circles, one over each basin, works when you want symmetry and defined zones. Hang the mirror so the centre point sits roughly at eye level for the tallest regular user, with the bottom edge 150 to 250mm above the vanity top. For the numbers in more detail, our bathroom mirror sizes guide walks you through it.
Frame finishes: black, brass and frameless
Match the mirror frame to the dominant metal finish in the room, not the tiles. If your tapware, towel rail and cabinet handles are matte black, a black round mirror pulls the room together. Brushed brass and warm gold read softer and pair beautifully with timber-look vanities and cream or clay tiles. Chrome and brushed nickel tapware want a frame in a similar cool tone, or go frameless.
Frameless round mirrors with a polished edge suit bathrooms where the tiling or vanity is already doing the visual work. They disappear into the wall and let the surrounds speak. Black is the most forgiving choice if you're mixing finishes or planning to swap tapware down the track.
LED and backlit round mirrors
A backlit round mirror gives a soft halo of light around the edge. Nice for mood, ambient light, and a modern look. A led round mirror with front-lit LEDs, where the light sits behind a frosted strip around the face, is the better call if you actually shave or do makeup at the mirror. The light hits your face, not the wall behind you.
Look for IP44 rating, which means the mirror handles splashes safely near a basin, in line with AS/NZS 3000 electrical zone requirements for bathrooms. Colour temperature around 4000K is the neutral daylight most people want at the mirror. Anti-fog demister pads are worth the small premium if your bathroom steams up. Round mirror size guide
| Mirror diameter | Suits vanity width | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 500mm | Up to 600mm | Powder rooms, small ensuites |
| 600mm | 700 to 900mm | Most single vanities |
| 700 to 800mm | 900 to 1200mm | Standard vanity sweet spot |
| 900mm+ | 1200mm+ or feature wall | Statement piece or double vanity centred |
Framed, frameless or LED, which round mirror suits your bathroom
Framed brings character. It matches your tapware finish and pulls the room's metals together. Best when you want the mirror to be part of the design story.
Frameless disappears. The polished edge is subtle, the wall and tiling lead. Choose this when your feature tile, vanity or lighting is already doing the heavy lifting.
LED and backlit solve a lighting problem. If the overhead downlight throws shadows down your face at the basin, front-lit LED sorts it. Backlit adds ambient glow rather than task lighting. Have a look at the wider bathroom mirrors range if you want to compare rectangular and arched shapes too.
Pairing your round mirror with the vanity
Centre the mirror on the basin, not necessarily the vanity itself if there's a side drawer stack. Leave 150 to 250mm between the vanity top and the bottom of the mirror. That gives the tap spout room to clear and stops the mirror looking like it's sitting on the bench.
If you've gone non-LED, plan wall lights or pendants either side, roughly at forehead height, so the light hits your face. Browse bathroom vanities if you're still finalising that piece.
Round bathroom mirror FAQs
A 600 to 700mm diameter is the sweet spot. That's roughly 65 to 75% of the vanity width, which reads balanced without crowding your tapware or wall lights either side.
Yes, if you pick front-lit rather than backlit. Front-lit throws light onto your face. Look for 4000K colour temperature for neutral daylight. Backlit mirrors are ambient only and won't cut it for detailed grooming.
Bathroom-grade round mirrors use tempered glass with sealed backing to resist humidity and stop the silvering lifting. LED versions should be IP44 rated, meaning they handle splashes safely, which is what AS/NZS 3000 requires near a basin.
Most use a French cleat or bracket system fixed to the wall. Hit a stud where you can. If you're mounting on plasterboard only, use rated wall anchors matched to the mirror weight. LED mirrors need a nearby power point or hardwired connection by a licensed electrician.
