Installation, what to check before you drill

Screw-fix needs a tile drill bit and a steady hand. Mark the spot, tape over it to stop the bit wandering, drill slow, and check there's no pipework behind the wall before you commit. Weight rating climbs with the mount type. Suction is light items only, think a bar of soap and a small bottle. Adhesive sits in the middle once it's properly cured. Screw-fix holds whatever the bracket is rated for.

Suction also needs a smooth, sealed tile face. Land it across a grout line and it'll drop overnight. Any glass shelf should be tempered to AS/NZS 2208, which means it breaks into small blunt pieces instead of long shards.

Keeping the finish looking right

Soft cloth, warm soapy water, dry after use. That last bit is the single best habit for matte black and brushed finishes, where dried water spots show up fast and take effort to lift.
